Summertime!

Summer was a very busy time for our household. Thomas and Matthew had their first cable car experience! Thomas was SO excited abut his big adventure. He didn't want to get off. And you can see Matthew had a nice little snooze on the ride downtown! Boy, I really look a lot like Thomas in that picture (or vice versa). Funny.
We also went and quite a few trips this summer. First we went to Santa Cruz. The boys couldn't get enough. Especially Thomas. He was crying when we drove home. He wanted to have more "adventure." Thomas rode on the log ride and a dragon roller coaster for kids. HE loved it (totally his father's child). It was great to see. Matthew rode on the little kiddy rides and had just as much fun. They both loved hanging out at the beach and getting wet too. Ohhh and the junk food! We had everything imaginable. You can see the boys enjoying an ice cream cone and a chocolate covered banana! It was great to spend time just the four of us.
A few weeks later we drove up to Sea Ranch and stayed at "Papa's Special House." Larry and Barbara rented a nice house up north and invited all of Scott's siblings to come up and stay. Again, we had a lot of fun going to the beach and Thomas loved being in the same house with Stella for a whole weekend. Thomas also did a great job on the toilet that weekend. He used the "big" toilet on his own and went when he had to go (not only when reminded). I loved going out on the trails that run along the coast. Absolutely beautiful. A great place to go for a jog. The only downside to the fabulous trip was that Thomas got really car sick on the way home. Hwy 1 is so windy up there that his little tummy couldn't take it. He threw-up two to three times. Poor guy.
Then we went south for the weekend to Aptos (south of Santa Cruz). Absolutely beautiful and it only took us an hour and 45minutes to get there! This time Scott's mom's family got together to celebrate Grandma Murphy's 80th Birthday! Very nice. Again the boys were so happy to be with their cousins. The houses we stayed in were right on the beach! So we were out on the beach by 8 or 9am jumping in the waves and collecting shells to make some cool sand sculptures with Aunt Mimi. The food was amazing and again we had very comfortable lodgings!
Here are some photos from our travels...

We also went to the zoo, Stow Lake and the Discovery Museum many times! The boys loved looking at all the animals and playing in the water! They both took swimming classes and had a blast. Matthew is a natural in the water. He learned to kick and blow bubbles. He also went underwater numerous times. His teacher, Jordan, was a riot with his very loud and energetic rendition of "The Wheels on the Bus." Thomas got to have some private lessons with Teacher Allan. He too got his face wet and splashed around in the pool. It was great to see him become more comfortable with the water.
